I personally watch it for the great singing talent, funny jokes, memorable characters, amazing animation/choreography, and passable stories.

As far as I can see, it's just a light-hearted show that's well drawn, fun to watch, and has some really nice musical numbers. I don't really see what there is not to like about it, other than the fact that some of the plots do edge towards the cliche on occasion.

I don't really see what 8-15 year old girls have to do with MLP. Maybe it's marketed towards them, maybe they like it too; either way, it is what it is, and what it is, is fun to watch.

Who said it was anything like a cult? It's a fun new show with nice music that some other people around here have actually seen. I'd be doing the same thing for Code Geass or Stargate SG-1 if they were still running and anyone gave two craps about them.

That one wasn't even in the show though; it was meta created after the show's online following became apparent, so it probably isn't a very good example for that point. Art of the Dress was planned and integrated into an episode long before the 1st ep. even aired.

Next thing I know, MLP is on, and I am watching it, and I'll admit, I see the appeal.
