I've been reading around on diff graphical settings, etc, and trying them out... I read that a lot of competitive players use windowed mode and "fish-bowl" their res. So I was curious to see how many of you who have played comp do this? (I never did it in the games I played comp in, but I wasn't prof either)

Default hud but with yellow damage text.

No viewmodels (except for melee) so my config looks a little something like this:
bind "1" "slot1; r_drawviewmodel 0"
bind "2" "slot2; r_drawviewmodel 0"
bind "3" "slot3; r_drawviewmodel 1"

My Launch Options: -sw -w 1024 -h 768 -console -noborder -nojoy -noipx -novid -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

Also, I'm kidding Mangachu. I'm interested in seeing your config set up as well as everybody elses! :) Good thread.

I wasn't going to get into cfg because even when I used them before I didn't take the time to figure out what every command did, I added some of my own, altered some and then just went on reviews, but that is also a big part of comp as well. Interesting site, I'm going through it right now. Currently for tf2 I have a very minimal cfg where I turned on the "secret hd settings" from the wiki and use the script I wrote for my crosshairs.

i play with the lowest resolution and in a window so i can get like 25ish fps :(
im gonna use chris' config once i figure out how to do it on mac

Maybe you should check out that link for maxfps, I'm testing out the max graphics atm, seems nice.

I'm not competitive but I do play in windowed mode. I play with:

-window -noborder -w1920 -h900 -novid -noforcemaccel -high -Heapsize 4194304

I've found that at about 2:1 fishbowling isn't that bad and I do get a significant increase to FoV.
The mills of the gods grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine.

For Soldier (I'm using diffrent values for every class):
bind "1" "slot1; cl_interp 0.0303; sensitivity 1.22; r_drawviewmodel 0; viewmodel_fov 120"
bind "2" "slot2; cl_interp 0.05; sensitivity 1.00; r_drawviewmodel 1; viewmodel_fov 120"
bind "3" "slot3; cl_interp 0.05; sensitivity 1.00; r_drawviewmodel 1; viewmodel_fov 90"

^...pretty shitty but it works perfectly. :P

For Pyro (my best idea evar):
bind "1" "slot1; cl_interp 0.0303; r_drawviewmodel 0; viewmodel_fov 0" <--- I don't see the flames, perfect for airblast. ;)

ya know, I've never thought of that, binding sensitivity to the different slots... not a bad idea.

True story, but my launch options are older than the raw input option in TF2 and I'm too lazy to remove commands that don't even affect anything. :>
