Contest Wanted! other news: Secret Santa?

It's that time of year again. On two accords at least. We need a holiday contest.
::::Requirements::::
Must be relatively fun
Must drive players to both servers and this website
Should probably include hats
Focus on Slayboxes
Steam group
ect.

This contest must be epic. I'm going to throw in a $600 dollar guitar as apart of the grand prize. I'm sure we could put together in game items for non-guitar players. But if you don't play. Just sell it.

So let's discuss what we can do here. Everyone's opinion, that's on topic, is welcome.

In other news. Are we doing secret santa this year? If so who will head it up? Recently Ackbar, who headed this endeavor, discovered a life. And can no longer juggle 10 minutes of forum time with us.

Not to be hasty, but what about the other contest? Would that be put on hold or finished up? Or after the argument was that all thrown in the trash?

As for this contest we could try something best screenshot in the CSn server? Not like cheeky poses or funny hats, but something like seasonal style pictures/death cams. You would need to post them on the forums, as well as be in our Slayboxes for it to count.

Just an idea. A shitty one, but an idea, nonetheless.

Maybe we could do something along the lines of 5v5 gameplay? Different awards for "Fastest payload capture", "Most kills in a single match" "congradulations to the last place team. We know you tried hard, so here is your consoation prize" and of course the grand prize "Most points in all of your matches put together" This game could start on a cp map and finish on a ctf map or something along those lines. The possibilities are endless.

i agree, maybe we can have a small raffle with people who spend a certain amount of time in the slayboxes, like maybe people who have 50+ hours in the slayboxes

with the new HLstats system, its pretty much impossible to lose points... so hours played basically=points. not saying you dont have an advantage if youre a better player, just saying that HLstats is highly effected by play time

Well that pretty much rules me out. I'm much more of a lovenester myself. I also know that all of your admin positions are full as of the writing of this, but I would still love to help out in any way I possibly can, even if it isn't a permanent position.

this is probably not what you're looking for, but are there any plans to restart the giveaways/contests that occurred during commentary? i mean, i doubt i could commentate, but if no one else is interested i'd be happy to help do some giveaway stuff like that

I was thinking about having like weekly trivia questions with hats as prizes in the Love Nest, like what I sometimes did when I first became an admin. (though I need to get my paws on more hats) But I guess it could work in Slayboxes. Just throwing the idea out here.

Maybe something similar to the replay contest Valve hosted? With replays only being accepted if they're made during the contest duration and from the Critsandvich servers.

It'd probably be difficult to enforce, though... I dunno.

The one before took something like 5 hours. NEVER AGAIN.
Plus it would be one sided since pink always plays DB so it wouldn't be that fair xD
