Griefers on the railcart

by Ackybur » Sat Oct 08, 2011 11:25 am

There were two griefers on last night who made a mild and annoying inconvenience to the railcart. I have removed the 2 from the server, I'll have the IP log from last night tomorrow and if I find they didn't do it I'll add them back in. So far it shows it was only them.

If you have any problems with this please PM on steam, thank you.

Why does this not shock me. Are people stupid? You're white listed in.

I like how only a very small number of people can join and yet griefers still get in. We should have a temp ban system (like a couple days or something) for vouching for / requesting the whitelisting of griefers.

I concur with the need for negative consequences associated with those who vouch for (and are by extension responsible for) harassing or destructive players. I do not, however, support a temporary ban as a punishment.

A temporary ban wouldn't undo the damage done by griefers, and I find it unlikely to be highly successful as a deterrent, since people's houses and creations will wait for them while they are away. I would instead support a punishment that fits the issue at hand; perhaps a temporary hold on the user's ability to vouch for members, or a reduction in the level of responsibility that is entrusted to them.
