New Donator Plugin: Flameprints

I developed a new plugin with the help of Repoman who was my muse. The plugin is based off of last halloweens spells (see link below) that allow players to leave tracks as they walk. The plugin will mark the path you traverse for about 2 seconds after you have made a step.

Usage:

Code: Select all
sm_flameprint <toggles the plugin on and off>
sm_flametype # <allows you to change the effect of your step>

Each server will remember your settings for that particular server, settings are not shared between servers.

Fun servers: All flametypes plus "blood" demoman "SEE with medic +" and special "sparkle" prints are available
Slayboxes: ~20 are available.

Here is a list of the effects, list numbers are approximate because the slaybox version does not include all the effects.

    1. pyrovision_flaming_arrow
    2. halloween_boss_foot_fire
    3. halloween_boss_foot_impact
    4. mini_fireworks(fun servers only)
    5. halloween_ghosts
    6. halloween_player_death_blue
    7. halloween_player_death
    8. player_australium_sparkles
    9. eb_projectile_sparks
    10. burningplayer_rainbow_stars01
    11. blood_decap (fun servers only)
    12. buildingdamage_fire1
    13. sentrydamage_1
    14. halloween_burningplayer_flyingbits
    15. mvm_cash_embers
    16. xms_ornament_glitter
    17. coin_blue
    18. pyrovision_flying_flaming_arrow
    19. speech_mediccall_auto(fun servers only)
    20. doublejump_trail
    21. snow_steppuff_mist
    22. sapper_smoke

This plugin was attracting a lot of attention from other players when I was testing it out, so it should be a good donator benefit.

For those curious about the way these things look, and exactly what the numbers will do on the slayboxes:

0. pyrovision_flaming_arrow - yellow sparkles
1. halloween_boss_foot_fire - purple flame
2. halloween_boss_foot_impact - purple flame
3. sapper_smoke - large clouds of faint dark grey smoke
4. halloween_ghosts - tiny orange ghosts
5. halloween_player_death_blue - large blue, cyan, and green ghosts
6. halloween_player_death - large red, orange, and yellow ghosts
7. burning_player_rainbow_stars01 - clouds of red stars
8. snow_steppuff_mist - large clouds of white smoke
9. player_australium_sparkles - tiny clouds of golden sparkles
10. player_australium_socktrail - same clouds of golden sparkles
11. buildingdamage_fire1 - tiny orange flames
12. sentrydamage_1 - burst of white sparks
13. halloween_burning_player_flyingbits - large green flame
14. mvm_cash_embers - Green $ floating out of the ground
15. xms_ornament_glitter - puff of white snow which slowly falls
16. coin_blue - glowing blue particles slowly spiral out of the ground and dissipate
17. pyrovision_flying_flaming_arrow - tiny flame composed of orange sparkles
18. eb_projectile_sparks - fountain of short lived purple particles
19+. doublejump_trail - small white spheres half in the ground

On the funservers it seems like the numbers are all what fingerman posted - 1.

mini-fireworks - clouds of blue stars
blood-decap - giant fountain of blood
speech-mediccall_auto - medic signs floating out of the ground and the demoman saying "See, I told you they were a bunch of wee lassies" with every step you take

Thanks for providing that info Legendary, I was kind of lazy in my initial post. Also the plugin does not display the print if you are cloaked when playing spy.

I didn't make a menu, but will consider it in the future, right now when you set the type it will reply what number you chose and tell you the name of the effect.

Is there a way to have an option for the medic crosses that doesn't have any sound attached to it for the slayboxes? I'd be personally interested.

I updated the plugin so now the spy will copy the disguise perfectly including the flameprint. If you are a spy regardless of whether you donate or not, it will display the correct print or lack thereof when you disguise.

Out of curiosity, would it be difficult to have the flame types show up in a list? For example, if you type "!flametype" then a list similar to the map vote would pop up displaying your options.

Also, from more of a player perspective, some of these footprints last longer than others. Just something to remember when you're being followed in the server ;)

Aren't on the slayboxes, only on lovenest and and funbox If I remember correct.
