Project Cars

by L0wsound » Thu Mar 10, 2016 4:27 am

Picked up this game during the last sales for $20 or so.

And I'm fairly hooked. Amazing graphics, amazing car design and detail.
I was introduced to playing with an actual steering wheel and pedals and fuck. There's no way to go back to a keyboard or controller.

So now I need to by a wheel... Oooh Dell has it on sale... for $399. Fuck.

Now I've got to stop myself from splurging :x

It's the best(ONLY) sale I've seen for it. :(

I might just get a used MOMO Force wheel for $160...

You could always try your local thrift shop and see if they got anything. Even then its a gamble because electronics are often stupidly under priced, or annoyingly over priced.

Finally got my hands on a G27

Learned how to drive stick last night :) and found out you can stall your car in ProjectCars.

You have any other driving-people games, L0wsound? I've been known to bust out the old G27 every once in a while and stream Assetto Corsa...

I'd say it's different, not better. Don't forget that pcars was released early 2015.

They only thing Forza got right over pcars is the puddling at low points of the track.
Also wtf is with the view in Forza, half the screen is taken up by the wheel/interior!

If anything DriveClub gets the rain right the most:

Water looks more real on the window than in PCcars yeah.
Depends on what car you have. I personally i have the same problem with my "irl" car when I turn left kinda, massive blind spot.

For the amount of time you spend looking at the water on the window, it doesn't matter that much :P

I'm talking about the setup/layout of the screen:

Not saying Forza's is wrong, just... different.
Interesting to note how Forza 'centers' your screen but Pcars puts you to the left a bit.
(no left hand drive cars in that vid to double check...)

I never realized how expensive steering wheels were. Why are they so much?

The whole inside looks more real in Forza aswell..
If you want realism it has it. PC sure plays like a real driving game but doesnt look as good overall.
