Dedicated Server, Please Help!

by squar3d » Sun Jan 09, 2011 11:44 am

So me and some friends have been playing some counterstrike 1.6/condition zero lately (mostly because they have slow computers). However, we (I host) can't get a dedicated server to work. I have spent several hours on the issue (Google and forum searching) and have come here as a last resort before really giving up for good

Here's what I did/tried
-Installed dedicated server from the tools download in steam.
-went to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\squar3d\dedicated server\cstrike and created a file called steam_appid.txt with the value of 10 (this is a fix for a previous error of the dedicated server not being able to connect to steam)
-Using a Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G and set it to forward ports 2700-27015, 27020 UDP/TCP to my specific ip address on the network (ie .100), and also enabled DMZ to to my host IP address.
-Comodo Firewall is set to Game mode, and I checked the log for any firewall events and saw none pertaining to recent connection attempts

-In addition I am able to connect to the server and even interact via RCON password , but no one else can connect (and Zbot commands don't work either, but that's a lesser issue )

Any help would be appreciated.

The port forwarding is the issue then, that or the firewall. I suggest all ports 27000 to 27030. Then turn off your firewall altogether and see. Also make sure windows stupid ass fw is off too.
The Asshole.
