Hey its Sharpeye here, what would y'alls opinion on a Highlander team be? I'm sure we could get some regulars of the server that are worthy of a steel or higher team...

*THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE* (this is to organize who wants what)

Scout-Rologton
Soldier-Beartato
Heavy-HausOfJoel/Nikki
Engie-PrincessScoot_/HausOfJoel
Demoman-Balubish
Pyro- PrincessScoot_/Ron Swansons Stache
Medic-Someone Special/(maybe nikki)/Rologton/Balubish
Sniper- Ron Swansons Stache/megamoose
Spy-Panda(i can play sniper or medic too, so well see where final spot is later)

----When we get a more confirmed roster, I will talk to all of y'all and get final confirmations on who is what role and who is subbing-----
*THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

Subs: Arty, Smiley, Sanic, Maringue, Creed

I agree with this. I prefer Highlander over other comp formats because I don't know the roles very well in 6's and shit, I kinda just like to run around and blow shit up. But, like Sanic, I'm awful..hope you guys get a team going though, there's some talent on our servers.

Y'all all say that y'all are bad but y'all arn't, i'd be down with making a team with y'all because y'all are cool, yeh i want to win, but it would still be cool to have you both if y'all would want to join. If we get enough people ill see about making it a full on thing, we probably would be iron/steel. (pref steel)

(if you want to join, just pick y'alls pref roll)

I would join up, but I'm not too sure about my skill. Also, I would most likely be unavailable if the event occurred before 3:00 PM EST or before Midnight EST
I would probably play Medic or Soldier in the event I joined.

If you can't get a 9th, I'd be up for it.

Otherwise I'd be a probably be a drag on the team :P

I'd be engineer or pyro; preferably pyro simply because I don't have a microphone and my engineering has a long way to go. I can't even buy a mic because the jack is broken.

If I were to play the two spots I'm half decent in are solly (my much better class, but someone's got it) and probably pyro, but just be warned my pyro play is pretty inconsistent. I've been playing a lot of sniper too but that's hit and miss too and we have some REALLY good snipers (nicewithit, carolina, mudkip, trike, Sideways George Clooney etc.)

Nah, I worded that poorly, I was referring to Soldier. I'm awful as a demo unless I'm annoyed that an easily destructible sentry isn't being taken care of by my team.

Scout/Pyro/Medic.

I'm actually kind of amazed that this laptop even works - electricity shoots out of one of the ports and/or the speaker jack. Maybe it's a zombie.

I'm practically late to this thread, but I've played a season of UGC Highlander in the past, though for the Steel RED division. I can have GoDM1N, Ninja, Xalde, Argent, NBC, and Doller to attest to that. I played our team's Soldier.

I can fill in the role of Soldier and Heavy, though I could probably be Medic if needed. I can be a main teammate or sub. Whatever works for you guys. I've been wanting to get back into Highlander, though two of the teams I tried out for just didn't have their shit together well enough for me to even stick around.

10 is late i know, it would start at ten, but some games might last till 10 or more depending on how long the stalemate is... most will be around 7-9 really and like i said, they ussually last ~45 mins

The current look to the roster:

*THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE* (this is to organize who wants what)

Scout-Rologton
Soldier-Beartato/ Ron Swansons Stache
Heavy-HausOfJoel/Nikki
Engie-PrincessScoot_/HausOfJoel
Demoman-Balubish
Pyro- PrincessScoot_/Ron Swansons Stache
Medic-Someone Special/(maybe nikki)/Rologton/Balubish
Sniper- Ron Swansons Stache/megamoose
Spy-Panda(i can play sniper or medic too, so well see where final spot is later)

----When we get a more confirmed roster, I will talk to all of y'all and get final confirmations on who is what role and who is subbing-----
*THESE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

Subs: Arty

FYI next season wont start till around April, so if we get this team made by early-mid march, we can get a feel for each others play styles during pre-season
(we will accept as many subs as possible, we almost had to forfeit today in 6s because of no replacement players)

If you really need players, I guess I can sub for Heavy. I like playing Medic, and I guess I'm not that bad at it, but I don't think I'd be comfortable playing Medic in a competitive atmosphere. Also, having games starting at like 8pm or later by me is kinda tough, considering I have class in the morning. I also don't have a working mic, and my desktop that runs TF2 is right next to my parent's bedroom.

Someone asked me about this last night. Up front, I don't really have time for practices or anything, but I can sub for medic if needed. I just need a decent amount of notice.

After that, just tell me how you want me to play. I don't know if you guys play a pocket medic or some other way, I've mediced enough I can fit whatever style you guys need. Just don't ask me to be a quickfix pocket, I haven't practiced duel rocket jumps at all.

It's just part of being in a competitive environment. When I played competitive Yugioh, I couldn't use certain cards or a certain amount of the same type of cards, due to the fact that they made things rather unbalanced. While having jingling cosmetics on your Pyro may be amusing, it's actually harmful in Highlander, since the noise that it generates gives away your position much easier. And Crit-a-Cola would be a bit OP for competitive play, since that gives the Scout mini-crits without any penalties.

For those who might worry about being inexperienced, you can try TF2 Lobby or TF2 Center to play some practice games. It can give you a feel for the roles each class plays, the typical comms (communications, ie what certain parts of maps are called, what sort of info is passed along, etc), as well as an opportunity to play popular custom maps in the comp scene (pl_borneo, barnblitz pro, viaduct pro, etc).

Although I haven't played much recently, I'd be willing to play some and sub for spy. I was a steel/silver spy main at my peak, although I mainly subbed in the silver divs. I've also got quite a few PUG's/Mixes under my belt.
I deal ¹º² Damage with my favorite gun.
I also spend way to much time on the forum.

Lobby is pretty hit and miss and the comms are awful. Well, I shouldn't say that because I don't know much about competitive comms but there's often MAYBE one other guy with a mic in a lobby. Granted, like I said, it's pretty hit and miss and sometimes you find some nice ones.

Well, that white list doesn't affect me at all. The only medic item that's banned is the vita saw, which is a fucking terrible weapon any way.

Although it's interesting to see some of the items that most levels ban. I love the fuck you to the Pompson and the short circuit though. Fuck the Pompson

Although it's interesting to see some of the items that most levels ban. I love the fuck you to the Pompson and the short circuit though. Fuck the Pompson

They revise the ban list every season, so we will have to wait and see what they will have...

Lobby is pretty hit and miss and the comms are awful. Well, I shouldn't say that because I don't know much about competitive comms but there's often MAYBE one other guy with a mic in a lobby. Granted, like I said, it's pretty hit and miss and sometimes you find some nice ones.

TF2 Center has the "Lobby Mumble is required" option and I've thought it was okay both times I played. It's pretty simple to join and the comms have been okay. I nothing else, it gives you a sense of what roles your team mates expect you and each other to fill.

Having Mumble required definitely helps. I've played lobbies here and there for a while but when I want to TF2 Center with Mumble req it was much better. There were....actual people. O__O
